India won the first one day International played at Jaipur by one run.

South Africa needed to score 64 off 31 balls when number 10 batsman Dale Steyn walked to the crease. No one gave South Africa a hope in hell. Dale and Parnell scored a brilliant partnership  that took us to 8 runs short of a miraculous win. Parnell fought on gallantly and was run out in his attempt to draw the match. South Africa ended one run short.  Pfheeew My poor Heart.

Game start at 11:00 SA time

The Test series wasn’t closely fought – both teams won by an innings- in the conventional sense but the matches were intense and dramatic contests. It has, thus, left everybody hoping that the ODIs will be as interesting. Some key players are missing from both India and South Africa but, as Australia proved on their last trip here, the absence of personnel can be overcome.

Team news

Both teams have been hit hard by injuries: South Africa will miss Smith while India don’t have Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan. India’s injuries present more opportunities to the likes of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to cement their places in the side. Kohli had a superb outing in the tri-series in Bangladesh and the pressure is on Raina, whose stock slipped after a poor ICC World Twenty20.

Pitch and conditions

“We’ve prepared a batting wicket. It is a 270 wicket,” curator Taposh Chatterjee said. In the last game played here, India nearly chased Pakistan’s 306 and one can expect another run-fest. However, dew is expected to play a role and the teams batting second might have an advantage.

Super,Adi,is not anything except a 13. Finished and klaar 🙂

  • 32

I would have had Johan Botha as captain too. He was superb as Captain in the odi’s in Australia. Let Kallis just concentrate on batting. What your think Super and Winston?

Carol dont tell me he also moaned about the Circus game

  • 34

    Tendulkar run out

  • 35

29 – Super he as okay there but Adi is a 13. What I would have done still to have Frans Steyn playing inside centre this year with Adi. Damn we miss Butchie big time too. I do think Ruan if left at FH will start to play really well there. Needs plenty time there.

  • 36

Agreed Puma. With all due respect Kallis is not a captain. A legendary batter and all rounder but he is not the right team man to be captain. Would have had Botha or Boucher as my captain any day of the week.

34 – WHOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO. Missed Tendulkar going out sitting at my pc. Going to watch the crici a bit now. Back later

    Morning Carol.

  • 38

Tops. Now just to get the danger man Sehwag out 🙂

  • 39

    1.5
Parnell to Sehwag, OUT, short outside off, slashed off the back foot into the covers where the fielder moves to his right and intercepts, Tendulkar sets off and gets sent back by a hesitant Sehwag, but he turns around and looks on as Parnell collects the ball and has plenty of time to break the stickc
    SR Tendulkar run out 4 (5b 1×4 0x6) SR: 80.00

36 – Winston me too, I would have had Botha. He was brilliant in Australia.

Just have to see how it goes today. So far so good with Tendulkar out. Need the big one of Sehwag.

  • 41

Amazing.. Two of the best out in the space of 2 overs. Get in 🙂

37 – Puma, missing the action again….I missed Wynands try yesterday, someone at the door…typical.

  • 46

    India 30/1 (5.3 ov)

    India RR 5.45
    Last 5 ovs 29/1 RR 5.80

  • 47

46 – Super the run rate going to climb and climb if we don’t get Sehwag out.

  • 48

32/1 after 7 overs. Not too bad so far.

  • 49

27 – Winston that is the problem playing players out of position. Ruan I know does not want to be there but we have no-one else really. Unless that Goode plays there for this season. Never seen him play ever. So have no clue how good or bad he is. I would have given the youngster a go Lambie. Think he is a exciting youngster. Need to look after the young players at the Sharks.

Also think if Ruan is left at FH the whole season he will get better there. Well hoping he is talented enough.

45 – Carol, you should have let WRS open the door. Nothing should distract you from watching your team… hahaha.

  • 51

We need to blood a young new player at Flyhalf,Goode is mediocre at best, nothing special. Time to take a chance and give something new game time,if we are going to lose lets at least do it giving new guys time on the park.

  • 52

I dont know what you guys think but this pitch looks like a road to me..

  • 53

    India 57/1 (9.2 ov)

    India RR 6.10
    Last 5 ovs 33/0 RR 6.60

Somehow we must run out one again , bowling they have the wool over our bowlers now. 😆 is this statement ok in Ingleesh

  • 54

In the pitch report they said something like that, a cement pitch. A real 20T pitch.

  • 55

Run rate just climbing and climbing. Bring on J.Botha to slow it down after the powerplay.

  • 56

52 – Winston it does and somehow think it is going to be better for batting first, jeepers hope not. Heard them say more teams won there batting 2nd. For now they are going to get a huge total if we don’t slow it down or get a wicket soon.

  • 57

53 – Super, Yip it is spot on. Your English is very, good.

  • 58

We will have to chase 300+ , lets hope it is 350. If we can get that we will rock back the Indians to mother earth. They feel so superior now. Remember you are only as good as your last match.
Go Proteas set yourself the impossible target, that when we come out fighting.

  • 59

seems the wrong Morkel is playing, when is Albie going to do something for the team again, he is on the same road as Duminy. DOWN hill.
