Ireland’s Grand Slam winning captain Brian O’Driscoll insists that last years great success has only added to his sides ambition ahead of the upcoming Six Nations campaign.O’Driscoll and his troops went undefeated in 2009, including a great victory over the World Champion Springbok side, but are looking to build on that success this season and usher in, what their fans hope will be, a period of great success.
“The fact we won hasn’t changed the dynamic,” said O’Driscoll to the Irish Independent.
“Hopefully it’s going to be our time again,
“You get selfish after obtaining a goal. You get a taste for it.
“It doesn’t mean your ambition is less, in fact it probably heightens it. I enjoyed all the trappings that came with the Grand Slam – winning itself, the celebrations and the general feeling in the country.
“It was great and if we can do that again, why not? It’s better than not doing it.”
