The Wallabies made mince meat of the Cardiff Blues, only allowing them 3 points in the 31 / 3 win at the Cardiff City Stadium last night.
This morale boosting win has now set up the Wallabies for their clash with Wales on the weekend after a draw against Ireland and a 1-point loss against Scotland.
New Zealander Ben Blair kicked the hosts’ only points in the fourth minute but first-half tries from Ryan Cross and Kurtley Beale helped Australia into a 17 / 3 lead at half time.
Tries in the second half from Luke Morahan and Curtley Beale made the Wallabies win a comfortable one and as I predicted, they moved away from the Blues easily as the game progressed.
Fullback James O’Connor converted all four tries and kicked a penalty to leave Australia’s under-pressure Kiwi coach Robbie Deans with some interesting selection calls to make ahead of Saturday’s tour-ending Test against Wales at the Millennium Stadium.
Gooooooooooo Wales!!
With this wallas side, who would EVER predict an outcome???
Not me!
Disgraceful, and the backlash hasn’t started yet . . . My own preferred outcome is that Matt Giteau never plays number 10 ever again.
