Willem Alberts and Louis Ludik have a new set of teeth as they change to Sharks.
Amongst all the Springbok trials & tribulations it all went in silence and unnoticed as Willem Alberts and Louis Ludik attended their first practice with the Sharks outfit in Durban yesterday.
But as one positive arrives another negative takes its place as its been reported that Monty Du Mond might not be able to join the Cheetahs as agreed and leaves the Sharks with some worrying times.
Hernandez is in Europe and is reported to have a back problem, and may not be ready to play in the Super 14 from the start.
Then there is a matter of a knee operation that Ruan Pienaar might have to undergo, although it is reported that it is not a serious operation and should be able to recover very quickly from this.
Between John Plumtree and Naka Drotsky there will be some serious stress as to how this all pans out as it could leave both camps in serious need of quality at pivot.
More news to follow as it is made available on matters arising from the Sharks camp…..
60@ Kitaartjie – It’s called “surrender”… hehehe
60 Hey Obelix, how are things? Pretty fukken hot hey?
@34 – Province doesn’t have that many talented players. They want you to believe that. I’m always surprised when Stormers fans and the media said that they have the best team on paper…
@59 – Wat?
@Treehugger – The Sharks probably had the best players in South Africa in the past 5 years or so. Do you really believe that 1 Currie Cup with the team the Sharks have does justice to the talent they have there? Anyway you Sharks lot are far too touchy. I’m not a fan of the rugby that the Sharks played the past two seasons (2008, and 2009) but in 2007 they played some real entertaining rugby. I’m a huge JP Pietersen fan, was he not just on fire in 2007? I also rate Adi Jacobs, but I’ve said it before he’s no inside-centre, and I’m actually a bit annoyed by how the media is treating him. I actually have huge respect for the talent the Sharks have there in Durban, but how they’ve treated certain players are unforgivable.
I agree with what Campo once said. He once said that a team who can’t play attacking rugby and win have shortcomings. The Sharks was hampered by no real game plan the past 2 seasons. They were scared of losing and the backline haven’t fired under Grant Bashford. They’ve been too reliant on opposition mistakes and didn’t make their own opportunities. I have huge respect for John Plumtree and I know he knows his rugby. But I’ve been a little disappointed by the Sharks under him.
59 – Snoek 😆
