England reached the target with 7 wickets standing, just more than 18 overs left, ending at 121 / 3. England now lead the series 2 to 1 with just one ODI game left.

The game started at 10:00 SA Time.

6.6 gone! England have their second and a fuller length pays off as Amla flicks straight to short midwicket…that’s a good fielding position for Amla who didn’t get over the ball and Anderson was clearly delighted with that 24/2
View dismissal GC Smith* lbw b Broad 2 7 4 0 0 50.00
1.2 well, what an early breakthrough for England as Broad pitches the ball up and finds a hint of movement to trap Smith on the crease as he plays to leg…wasn’t a huge appeal to be honest, and it didn’t look stone dead, but England won’t be bothered about that 6/1
View dismissal AB de Villiers lbw b Bresnan 22 51 36 4 0 61.11
13.5 England continue to strike. Much fuller and de Villiers was disappointed but the replays show the ball was clipping the top of leg. Big wicket and South Africa are in real trouble 55/4
View dismissal JP Duminy c †Prior b Anderson 6 14 10 1 0 60.00
10.3 well, that was strange! A slower-ball bouncer catches the back of Duminy’s bat as he tried to guide a pull away, and the ball looped slowly to Prior. England haven’t bowled all that well and the pitch is flat, but it’s 35 for 3. 35/3
View dismissal AN Petersen c Wright b Broad 51 126 79 5 0 64.55
36.5 Stunner! Petersen advances but Broad sees him coming and goes short. The attempted swipe is mistimed and Luke Wright, back-peddling, timed a one-handed leap perfectly to take a pearler in his right hand. Sums up England’s performance perfectly. 119/10
View dismissal MV Boucher b Anderson 13 31 23 2 0 56.52
20.6 what a ripper! That’s a beauty from Anderson, holding its line and beating Boucher’s outside edge to take out the off stump…almost silence around the ground as South Africa slip further 78/5
View dismissal R McLaren c Collingwood b Anderson 0 8 5 0 0 0.00
22.5 gone! Another for Anderson, that’s four…South Africa in a real hole as McLaren, starved of any scoring opportunities, drives at a hint of width but can only pick out Collingwood at backward point and he wasn’t going to miss that chance 78/6
View dismissal J Botha c †Prior b Anderson 1 14 8 0 0 12.50
26.2 that’s five! A career-best for Anderson as it rears off a length and takes the outside edge through to Prior…that was almost unplayable and Anderson rightly takes all the plaudits 84/7
View dismissal WD Parnell c Strauss b Collingwood 1 17 14 0 0 7.14
29.5 what a stunner! Andrew Strauss has pulled off a cracking catch at backward point (normally filled by the man bowling) as he flings himself low to his left to pluck the chance inches off the turf after Parnell tried to drive square. That gives Collingwood his 100th ODI wicket and England can do no wrong today. 92/8
View dismissal M Morkel lbw b Collingwood 7 22 15 1 0 46.66
33.6 another cutter but beat Morkel’s defensive stroke. It jumped a little off the pitch and a long, long appeal was finally rewarded. Morkel was a long way down but replays suggested again that the umpire was right. 112/9

    More GBS
Wonder of die krieket ons gaan bly maak.
Richie McCaw was nie player of the year werd die jaar nie , sorry dis net weereens n siek besluit

  • 2

Morning everyone. Damn I am angry, angry. How on earth did Richie McCaw win player of the year award?

Was that a consolation to him because he should have won it last year when SW from Wales won it when he never should have? Damn are they BLIND THERE? McCaw’s All Blacks lost to us 3 times this year. Also he was out injured in the S14 never played as much rugby as FdP.

REALLY are the BLIND. Did they not watch FdP this year?

Something not right there. Will never ever, ever take those awards serious again ever.

FdP was ROBBED of this award. Disgraceful.

Puma they dont like SA easy as that.

What was your pick for Cricket, mine SA by 20 runs or 4 wickets

    SA will bat first

  • 5

9.35am South Africa have won the toss and will bat. Graeme Smith confirms that Dale Steyn is out with a hamstring strain, to be replaced by Charl Langeveldt, and Roelof van der Merwe makes way for Johan Botha.
England, meanwhile, have named an unchanged side and Andrew Strauss says the side are keen to bounce back. So James Anderson’s knee is clearly not a major problem.

  • 6

5 – Super was just about to say that. Good now need to bat first there.

Pity that Van der Merwe is out. Always enjoy watching him play. Then Johan Botha is a superb players.

    Go Proteas.

I think the success that Duminy had last game showed that vd Merwe is not doing it right at the moment. Maybe time back at his franchise will sort things out for him.

  • 8

Super think mine was 25 runs. Will have to go check.

Damn am so angry that FdP never won ‘Player of the Year’ He was head and shoulders above McCaw this year. What exactly did McCaw do this year to win it? He was outplayed by Brussow in Bloem too. Will never in my life take those daft wards serious. For me FdP is my player of the year. So bugger them.

  • 9

7 – Super he just adds something. Maybe his personality too, really enjoy him bowling too not just batting. Hope he gets back in the team again.

  • 10

    Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo julle 2 fokkoppies!

  • 11

Hello GBS. Morning boet. Did you see that R.McCaw won ‘Player of the Year’ Damn nonsense. Very angry that FdP never won it. How the heck did McCaw win it? I think it was consolation from last year when he should have won when SW won and never deserved too. They are blind as bats there. FdP way, way better player than McCaw this year. Also McCaw been injured a lot this year. So how the heck he won it is a mystery.

  • 12

3 – Super I have SA to win by 20 runs and think 4 wickets.

Forgot to do my picks on Friday. So daft. Put in my rugby picks as was going to do the cricket picks. Got side tracked and forgot. So missed out there.

  • 13

Donner, Greame Smith is already out!

  • 14

13 – GBS, Yip not a good start. Please we must win in the cricket today. Will never handle another loss from a SA side after last night losing to Ireland.

  • 15

This is the most nervous time for me if they get to 50 without another loss the game becomes lekkerder for me. Dont want to drink today plueeeze

  • 16

O donner, daar van Amla se wicket ook…

    SA 24 / 2 after 7 overs

  • 17

28/2 after 7.3 overs. Come now Proteas please don’t you lose too. AB playing well though.

  • 18

Sal maar n rooiwyntjie oopmaak, vrou kook n lekker bord boerekos, haar maar voorspring met die wyn. Die game nie so lekker begin nie.

  • 19

18 – Super that sounds great.

We never play well at PE. Hope that JP and AB can play well. Need them to make some good runs now. Think there is a lot of movement there and must be difficult for batting at this stage. Hope we made the right choice to bat first. Thought batting there first was the way to go. Will have to see.

Ag, As I type this there goes JP. We going to lose this one too.

    35/3

  • 20

    SA 35 / 2 after 10 overs…

Oh damn, then Duminy loses his wicket too in the 11th over… 35 / 3

  • 21

Maybe the rest of that Chivas will be needed.
We are in big poef now.
    200 will be brilliant

  • 22

Ok, gaan gou deur die swembad spring….

  • 23

Geniet dit ekself moet ook wegkom voor die TV , beter vir my gesondheid

  • 24

    41/3 after 12.2 overs.

AB please get another hundred. Pietersen needs to stay with him now.

  • 25

21 – Super 200 could win it for us there. What is the highest score at PE? If we can make 220 think we will be safe on that ground. How does that pitch play in the afteroon?

  • 26

Don’t think PE is a high scoring ground. If these two stay in we can still win.

    AB just keep batting.

  • 27

We are in deep shit now

  • 28

    56/4

Think that is us done. AB out. Maybe should have batted 2nd. Looks tough out there.

Come now Bouch get some big runs.

  • 29

27 – Super, We are. Think batting is very difficult there. Maybe should have batted 2nd.

Just let it rain…..hehe. Really can not stand another loss after our rugby loss to Ireland yesterday.

  • 30

Super going for a quick swim. Hope we these two are still batting by the time I am out the pool.

    Back later.
