Should be good if the weather up there is good. Lucky England…..hehehe Getting after the rain came on Friday night and beat us by one run 😉
I may just order Johns book…..just read on the interned that one ‘nameless’ individual was rude enough to sit texting when Monty was delivering his farewell speech!! How rude !! 😐
GBS – ‘And now over to our cricket correspondent at Lords, Mr. Puma’…… 😆
10 – Get the book Carol so far it is a very, very good read. Especially if you are a Bok supporter but there is plenty in it to be enjoyed.
11 – 😆
I would love to do it Puma , but somehow after the joy of rain Friday night and the heavy lightning the Eskom guys had a major knock and my power has been gone for intermittent times, sorry the language the kids are here and the wine flows, but i will try.
If i can tear myself away from my 4 month old grand daughter , she has me in the bag.
Alastair Cook will captain England for the first time in the second Twenty20 against South Africa after Paul Collingwood was ruled out with a back injury as the visitors face a battle to get a suitable XI on the park at Centurion.
Collingwood has been struggling since his 32-ball 57 in the opening match at the Wanderers and missed training on Saturday. With Andrew Strauss not part of the Twenty20 set-up the captaincy has passed to Cook as England aim to secure the short series.
Cook has been earmarked as a long-term future captain and he is being tipped to lead England in Bangladesh early next year if Strauss is rested from the tour. However, his captaincy experience to date is limited to Bedford School, Essex youth sides and the second XI and MCC against Sussex in 2007.
Leading his country is another challenge for Cook who is trying to restablish himself in England’s limited-overs side. He made 11 off eight balls in the first match before missing a full toss and is under pressure to justify his selection.
The loss of the captain isn’t England’s only concern with Graeme Swann (side) and James Anderson (knee) missing training yesterday. Kevin Pietersen isn’t due to return to action until Tuesday against South Africa A, but with the squad being stretched it isn’t out of the question that his comeback could be advanced by a couple of days.
Adil Rashid, the legspinner, and paceman Graham Onions are the other two players who sat out the first Twenty20.
12 – Puma, perhaps Santa will slip it into my stocking 😉
See Carol how much mistakes I make. Cant really be the Author here on the cricket. 😀 SuperBul has to be.
Look at my post 9
Meant to say. Getting the the win – forgot that part out 🙄 Brain going faster than my fingers on the keyboard and never check my posts before hitting the submit comment..hehe
15 – Carol you never know. Some nice pics in that book too.
14 – SuperBul,
Hello Super, Think England will miss Collingwood today. He batted well on Friday. Hope he is better with that back for the tests.

never fear when a BULL is near. Thats a super one, fear the rest, esp a buffalo. 😆
superGrandpaBul- Even over here we have power cuts, electricity off 3 times with us yesterday!
I love your description of nearly being able to hear the grass grow btw. Almost like the earth is holding its breath ready to explode when you get just a bit more rain!
4 months old is so tiny! Enjoy your bonding…
South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first against England
16 – Puma, your style is legendary, bloggers would flock to see the ‘Puma’ article, you are a one off and if you did not have your usual typos we would be very disappointed!!
Never say never!!
19 – would a moose fear a superBul?

You know Carol when you visit us one day maybe just maybe you will understand how hard it is in Africa. We smile so often when great things like rain comes. We really are a nation close to the creator and earth. We love this land, sometimes it sickens me when pure political strife and own agendas take over. So many of the white community is misunderstood… We love this land.

2.15pm OK, so much for my earlier positive news on the weather. A colleague at the ground has just said a nasty thunderstorm is heading the way of Centurion. And, as we saw the other night, when it rains in the highveld it’s not often a light shower. Fingers crossed it misses the ground.
2.00pm Time for the toss…South Africa have won it and will bat first. Looking to put runs on the board. Smith confirms that Kallis is back, wicketkeeper Heino Kuhn makes his debut and Yusuf Abdulla gets a game.
Alastair Cook, the new captain, isn’t too concerned about losing the toss and confirms two changes for England. Pietersen in for Collingwood and Adil Rashid replaces the injured Graeme Swann.
22 – Carol, I must make more typos than anyone else 😀
Then never check my posts before hitting the submit button. Too lazy to check. Only see them after..hehe.
Carol, my style is boring 😉
26 – Super one toss we needed to win, especially if there is a thunderstorm on the way.
I do like Yusaf Abdulla pleased he is getting a game here today.
On TV looks like a lot of clouds about there at Centurion.
Please let it blow over quick. If there is a thunderstorm it will ruin the game. Too much rain comes with a thunderstorm to get it started again.
Go Proteas.
Super, If KP is in form he is the best replacement for Collingwood.
