The Bok team that will play in the opening match against Leicester as been named.
“Our focus is fully on the Leicester match because it is important that we get the tour off to a good start,” said Springbok coach Peter de Villiers.
“It is also important that we strive to give all of the newcomers game time in the opener. It is also great to have a host of players in the 22 that have played at Test level and can use their experience to assist the newcomers to settle quickly.
“Leicester will be tough opponents. They have been consistently good for the past few seasons and are one of the top club teams in the Northern Hemisphere,” de Villiers said.

This tight five looks a bit lite to me. But the loosies should be good.
58@ vanStraaten – Very interesting… and disturbing…
Not good to show favouritism and blatently ignore FORM.
Man, let’s be honest, where is Mapoe, Alberts or Vermeulen, Adriaan Strauss or Tiaan Liebenberg, Sykes or Van Zyl or Dawid de Villiers, WP Nel and/or Wian du Preez…
Why Davon Raubenheimer gets chosen when there is a plethera of TOP NOTCH loosies in SA, amazes me… why we have the No 2 & 3 Hookers at a Franchise there but not a regular hooker who starts every week is just plain window dressing, same with Hargreaves… he does not even make the Sharks run-on side…
Boeties vir bandjies en bandjies vir boeties…. watch out Snorrie…. you’ve done well up to now, but this blatent favouritism will be your undoing one day and possibly SA Rugby’s undoing in the process.
@ snoek dis asof kanko so half motifering kort hy doen als deesdae so half lyf
Evening Everyone.
Gentlemen, I’ll be leaving my Office now and attend to the rest of the family… gooi mielies.
Howzit puma, Hows it going?
73 – Snoek
I feel the same. Kanko is very talented but just never gets enough game time with the Boks to really show much of what he can do. He will go with the team but probably not even sit on the bench and be a fringe player again.
You can only get the best out of a player if he plays every week.
SA probably just has too much talent at the moment.
Still feel angry that Brussow has been dropped to the Dirt Trackers team. Deserved to start with the Boks.
Also Chili has not played for 5 weeks and captains the Dirt Trackers. D. Potgieter who is in great form and is a born leader should have been made captain.
Too many Dirt Trackers that should have made the trip to play have been left behind home. Huge pity we wont see what they could have done over there.
@gbs sal kanko ok da sit in die orde chillie kom hier in bismark wian tian richard derick van dyk chillie
84 – Snoek
Very well thanks. Just not happy with some seletions. Suppose it was to be expected. Then to see Brussow in the Dirt Tracker team that was like a bolt. Never thought he would be dropped. If he is but it seems like it reading rugby 365 and SuperSport.
@puma i think he is only experimenting and that brussie will start in the tests also if not than he has made a HUGE mistake
Puma, see you are leading our Superbru group, we will catch you soon
79 @ Smallies72 – Missed your post – Hahahaha, you doing the pleasing the wife thing, too much rugby do that to men.
