Argentina have chosen a monster forwards pack against England for their clash at Twickenham on Saturday but have been hit hard by injuries in the backline.

In the front row it is the trio of Rodrigo Roncero, Mario Ledesma and Martin Scelzo, who all play their rugby in France and who forms one of the most powerful scrummaging front rows in the world.

In the backline 2 key players are missing (injured), Juan Martin Hernandez and Felipe Contepomi. It seems likely that they’ll miss the whole Puma Tour, Hernandez has injured his back and Contepomi has been injured since May, having torn knee ligaments whilst playing for Leinster. In addition the backline is without wing Lucas Amorosino and Gonzalo Camacho.

These 2 Teams last met each other in Salta, Argentina in June, when Argentina beat England 24 / 22, but this Argentinian Team has 7 changes fron the victorius side.

Argentina also plays Wales and Scotland whilston tour.

Argentina:

15 Horacio Agulla
14 Lucas Borges
13 Gonzalo Tiesi
12 Martin Rodriguez
11 Mauro Comuzzi
10 Santiago Fernandez
9 Alfredo Lalanne
8 Juan Fernandez Lobbe (captain)
7 Alejandro Abadie
6 Tomas Leonardi
5 Patricio Albacete
4 Esteban Lozada

Go Argies…. frommel these pasty Poms !

Never knew Hernandez is injured. Get better quick. Sharks need you mate.

Best scrum in the world but too many of their players missing. England may win this. Then they were poor against Australia.

Have to think about this one for my Superbru 😀

    Poms will take this.

  • 4

Poms should take this… only because it is played in England. The Pumas are a different team at home. In June when they played in England, England easily beat the Argies… then they moved for the next game to Salta, Argentina… and the Argies won a close encounter.

Argentine coach was crying like a stuck pig on Sky this morning because Leicester played one of his players against the Boks on Friday night, and played him again on Sunday where he picked up an injury. Didn’t catch the name.

Doesn’t sound like good player management to me.

5@ Scrumdown – Must be about Lucas Amorosino, the wing… who sored a nice try against the Bokke.
