While we wait for serious rugby to begin.
This week the verbal jousting between supporters was taken up a notch as five teams fight for just four places …
Here are your pearls of wisdom, all the crackers and the shockers as we give our readers a voice in this week’s “You said it”.
Those with a light blue tint in their eye …
“Al wat jy sien is die Blou masjien!!!”
“2009: the year the Bulls became the first team to win the Super 14 and Currie Cup in the same year!”
“I want nothing more than a Bulls vs WP final, just so that we can teach WP an important lesson: That being top of the log is meaningless if you do not finish it off with a win in the final. I see tears coming, little blue and white tears.”
“I have stopped drinking beer. Being a Blue Bulls supporter I have acquired a taste for champagne!”
And with a little orange lining …
“Everyone is talking about it being a three-horse race. We’ll sneak in through the back door, and by the time the dust has settled, and everyone realizes what has happened, the Currie Cup will be in a cabinet in Bloemfontein.”
“My vote: Bulls versus Cheetahs final at Loftus. Remember Sharkies…you can only win once every 12 years, now step aside for the real deal.”
A wee tint of blue and white …
“I have to say the Bulls and Province supporters are the most faithful and passionate. Win or lose we stick to our team and support them. Don’t get me wrong I believe that all the other provinces have their faithful supporters but you can’t bring in a crowd when you play a lower level team. It must also be said that the price of R50- R100 per ticket @ Newlands for Currie cup games has made it financially viable to watch. I raise a glass to the Bulls and Province supporters, may we meet in the final.”
“Thanks to the Bulls for Habana, and to the Lions for Jacques Fourie.”
Of course … The anti wee-pee brigade …
“The Currie Cup for this year is very competitive and WP possibly deserves to be in front. AAARGH now I will visit the bathroom to vomit and to wash my mouth with a strong detergent.”
“The only good thing in the Western Province is wine, of which the best is shipped to Gauteng…”
“It is a rather comforting thought that the Province supporters will be off this forum come next week Saturday. I am terribly sorry to be the bearer of your tale of woe, but out the Currie Cup WP will go!”
“Unfortunately for Rassie you cannot buy the Currie Cup.”
And from the outsiders looking in …
“My Leeutjies het nou baie rus tyd voor die Super 14!”
“What a joke Chester – we lost better this week than last week – ‘Chester Williams, Boland’s director of coaching, said he was pleased that his side showed a measure of improvement against Province. Last week the Cavaliers conceded 13 tries to the Blue Bulls but leaked only seven to Province.’ ONLY seven.”
“When the champion’s name is engraved on the trophy they don’t add: ‘the ref cheated’
“I feel a coastal final coming along, these bloutrille are gonna be klapping those klippies in sorrow soon.”
Was dit K9 wat so positiewe uitkyk gehad het na Saterdag se game teen die Sharks.
“My Leeutjies het nou baie rus tyd voor die Super 14!”
If the Bulls win the CC. Not the first…but the second side to win a Super series and CC in the same year.
Gou vandag vir my griepinspuiting gegaan, vra die dokter my, ‘Hoekom is jou bloed so erg ROOI vandag’? !!!!!

Mike vra Kallie: “Is Portugal ver? ”
Kallie: “Nee, ek glo nie, want daar was Portugese saam met my op skool en hulle het met bicycles gery!”
This is the intro of a blog by a guy calling himself , Kitchener
I say chaps, what a jolly interesting weekend coming up for you Yarpies.
This year’s Currie Cup is beginning to look like the Boer War all over again. It’s the Cape Colony against the Boers of the Transvaal Republic in the one semifinal and in the other, it’s the Natal Mounted Rifles up against the Boers of the Orange Free State. Wouldn’t it be absolutely spiffing if the two Anglo sides both gave the beastly Boers a right stuffing and went on to meet in a dream final played in the Last Outpost of the British Empire? Sounds almost like a fairy tale.
Come on chaps, England expects . . .
Some replies, others was to rough
Ha ha ha dit is nogal snaaks aangesien daar so baie Vrystaters in die Shark span is. But I am very pleased as a Shark supporter due to being born and raised in KZN I feel that ons Boere julle souties soms maar net moet dra 🙂
O ja jou Lord lyk maar ‘n bietjie dof. By the way I enjoy the way you pull the piss.

i say old chap, lord kitchener of chartoum was quite a good looking fellow. however, his good looks will not change the outcome of the currie cup. and sir donald currie, being a fair fellow, introduced this cup to all.
the bulls, being true afrikaner stock, will win the cup!!! that is it!!!

i fail to understand why you are bringing the queen of england into rugby…south african rugby on top of it…if you are lost their is a lot of empty seats on british airways and at cheap prices…we are a nation on our own…that includes everybody.
