This is a courtecy note to inform bloggers about the sudden disapearance of SMILEYS on the web site.

Sorry about the smileys fellas…. and girls…. I critically looked at what smileys actually did to LOAD TIMES of pages here on the blog, and determined that with our KAK WEBHOST it takes 4 TIMES LONGER to load a page when smileys are included.

Sooooo, until I find another WEBHOST who will not throttle our CPU USAGE, I will keep the smileys off.

Finding the host is not the problem, finding the time to migrate the site over to that host AND being off-line for 18 – 24 hours is the real problem.

But you guys know me… where there’s a problem, there’s a solution… so just hang in there!

Regards,

GBS

    @sharky_forever – Morning Sharky, have you discovered the meaning of life overnight? Skop got me thinking…..

  • 35

    33@carol – “Wedwo” is a foul-smelling fish-paste that we get in SA to smear on bread…. but that’s as far as I want to go in the explanation….

    Life Is What We Make It by Edgar A. Guest

    Life is a jest;
    Take the delight of it.
    Laughter is best;
    Sing through the night of it.
    Swiftly the tear
    And the hurt and the ache of it
    Find us down here;
    Life must be what we make of it.

    Life is a song;
    Dance to the thrill of it.
    Grief’s hours are long,
    And cold is the chill of it.
    Joy is man’s need;
    Let us smile for the sake of it.
    This be our creed:
    Life must be what we make of it.

    Life is a soul;
    The virtue and vice of it,
    Strife for a goal,
    And man’s strength is the price of it.
    Your life and mine,
    The bare bread and the cake of it
    End in this line:
    Life must be what we make of it.

    38@carol – hallo carol, say hello to sheriff from bdb. Tell him I said: “Sheriff, jy is reg, maar nie in die kop nie.” 😉 (remember to include the smiley)

    36: asbak, sien jy is ‘n man van kultuur. Dit is mooi, maar nie heeltemal waar nie, want ons kan nie altyd bepaal wat met ons lewe gebeur nie, of dit ‘maak’ soos ons dit altyd graag wil hê nie. Daar is ook iewers ‘n mooi gesegde wat sê ons moet bid dat die hemelse Vader ons die krag gee om te verander wat ons kan, en te berus by dit wat ons nie kan verander nie. Iets in daardie lyn.

  • 48

  • 53

    @Ashley – Actually Sheriff is not happy with you lol , comming here and not informing him as ur friend lol.

    he said he hopes we dont treat you as a quota here lmfao

    I said nope people are treated as such in keo , in RT we treat people with respect etc , he then responded with a “yes but how many people in there are people of colour ”

    he thought we are between 300 to 500 members in RT :lol:, but jokes aside i did sense he is a little unhappy as you left without a bye

    sorry guys, dont want to bore you
    but
    i have a seaking feeling that you might just enjoy this one!!
    ….

    My Pa says that he used to be
    A bright boy in geography;
    An’ when he went to school he knew
    The rivers an’ the mountains, too,
    An’ all the capitals of states
    An’ bound’ry lines an’ all the dates
    They joined the union. But last night
    When I was studyin’ to recite
    I asked him if he would explain
    The leading industries of Maine—
    He thought an’ thought an’ thought a lot,
    An’ said, “I knew, but I’ve forgot.”

    My Pa says when he was in school
    He got a hundred as a rule;
    An’ grammar was a thing he knew
    Becoz he paid attention to
    His teacher, an’ he learned the way
    To write good English, an’ to say
    The proper things, an’ I should be
    As good a boy in school as he.
    But once I asked him could he give
    Me help with the infinitive—
    He scratched his head and said: “Great Scott!
    I used to know, but I’ve forgot.”

    My Pa says when he was a boy
    Arithmetic was just a toy;
    He learned his tables mighty fast
    An’ every term he always passed,
    An’ had good marks, an’ teachers said:
    “That youngster surely has a head.”
    But just the same I notice now
    Most every time I ask him how
    To find the common multiple,
    He says, “That’s most unusual!
    Once I’d have told you on the spot,
    But somehow, sonny, I’ve forgot.”
    I’m tellin’ you just what is what,
    My Pa’s forgot an awful lot!

  • 56

    55@Ashley – What is this… Dead Poet’s Society?

  • 57

    53@sharky_forever

  • 59

    56@grootblousmile

    but
    can it be, pretty please?
    ..
    oh and btw
    this is to show that i’m STILL a true gentleman
    that monster on the “oop ketel” thread wasnt me!! :embarressed: (lol)
