Sharks Coach John Plumtree has been able to select from just about his strongest squad of the Absa Currie Cup campaign for Saturday’s showdown with the Free State Cheetahs in their Absa Stadium Durban semifinal.
Courtecy of the Sharks official web site:
Stefan Terblanche will retain the captaincy role he has carried all season with great success but he will be aided by two other leaders in John Smit and Johann Muller – the latter one of a slew of players who went into the week with an injury cloud hanging over them, but have all emerged match ready.
The backline remains unchanged although Monty Dumond comes in for Waylon Murray on the bench in the only change amongst the backs. In the forwards, Jean Deysel who played off the bench last week starts at flank alongside another stalwart in Jacques Botes who also makes a welcome return from injury.
The Vodacom Super 14 lock pairing of Johann Muller and Steven Sykes is re-united with Muller’s arm holding up against a physical bashing in practice while the front row remains intact from last week (and the Springboks) with both of Bismarck du Plessis and Tendai Mtawarira having come through the injuries the pair sustained against Griquas last week and have been passed fit to play.
Michael Rhodes and Alistair Hargreaves are the unfortunate players to miss out, although their contribution has been invaluable and they will certainly share in the team’s euphoria and success.

I don’t know how many people are aware that alternating between dagga and sniffing tree glue is quite common here in the Cape.
They once asked a local who alternated between the two substances how he feels when he sobers up and his response was, “Tussen die boom en die bas.”
good day boomdrukkieninny hugssssssss mwahhhhhhhh hope you are well 😆

Our Webmonster will sort it out…..hehe.

@sharky_forever – :blowkiss: :blowkiss:
Am off to read the weekend matchups
@sharky_forever – 99
Yes think it could be that. I say 7 or upto about 10.
Jeepers excited for the rugby on Saturday. Both semi finals going to be great.
Rain again for Saturday forecast. Think somehow that will suit the Sharks as those Cheetahs just know one way to play and that is to run us off our feet. Wont be able to do that if there is rain. Just a bit worried about Brussow. Need to keep him in check. Both Deysel and Botes must.
@Treehugger – lol catcha laters then hun
@Puma – agreed , one can see that by the team they have chosen
only a reserve hooker or prop on the bench one lock and 2 loose forwards
Am back. Dropped of my comment and now have two windows open.
