This year, the B-Factor is the buzz for the SA Rugby Awards. Heinrich Brüssouw and a host of Bulls players and Bokke players dominate the Nominations.
Heinrich Brüssow, one of the stars of the 2009 season, has been nominated 5 times and heads the list of nominees with three of his Springbok team-mates for awards to be made at the SA Rugby Player of the Year banquet which will take place at a glittering event at Vodaworld, Midrand, on Monday, November 2.
Apart from Brüssow, Fourie du Preez (4), Springbok captain John Smit (3) and Morné Steyn (3) have also been nominated for multiple awards.
In addition, Peter De Villiers and Paul Treu, the 2 National coaches of the 15-man and 7-man codes respectively, are rewarded as nominees for coach of the year.
It will be difficult to decide some of the winners in the categories, for instance, as Teams of the year there is the triumphant Super 14 winners, The Bulls, but also the Springboks, who won both the B & I Lions Tour and the Tri-Nations.

Swear at me, smileys are gone… it affected load speeds too much!
@grootblousmile –
@grootblousmile –
In elke geval, fok daai site.
Nee wat, daai site is dood vir my. Rugby-talk is die shizzness 😉
93@Greenpoint-Gunner –
@smallies72 – 2
Yes is has to be. Try of the year to F. Juries.
Morning Piet and Ash.
Team of the Year
GWK Griquas – Vodacom Cup and Absa Currie Cup
Springboks
Springbok Sevens
Vodacom Bulls – Vodacom Super 14
Vodacom Western Province – Absa Currie Cup
Hi puma
Seems like the cheetahs supporters think they will walk over the Sharks this weekend.
The Cheetahs couldn’t beat the sharks this year home or away, and suddenly every anti-sharks supporters think that a fairy waved a magic wand to make the cheetahs a better team that what they are.
One has to wonder sometimes!!
It’s all for the love of the sport.
Our dignity is in tact and we have pure motives.
Anybody that want to talk rugby, should come to Rugby-Talk.
Yes we talk a lot of nonsence in between, but that is what happens when you become Rugby-Talk friends.
Politics and religion is a definite no no. I mean, show me one war that did not start because of one of the 2.
Jeez, I’m running away here with to much thoughts….
Anyway, welcome bro. nice to see a new face.
@Snoek – 99
Hello Snoek,
Probably because of that huge win against us in the S14. This is different now. Sharks should win on Saturday. Really can not see us lose. Then it is knock out game so anything can happen. Just think we should win.
Now just hoping that Bissie can start too and Beast. Not sure about their injuries.
When will the Sharks team be announced?

Never worked. GBS where are our smiley faces?
😆
Ja nokkol niks nie!!
@Snoek – 102
Feel similar about those picks of yours. F. du Preez has to be Player Of The Year. Brussow Young Player Of The Year.
Team of the year. Has to be Springboks.
Coach of the year. P. de Villiers – Boks.
Also thought Brussow was the stand out player in during the Lions series.
@Snoek – 107
Smiley laughing..hahaha. Where are our smiley faces GBS?
@Puma – Hey Puma
Are you going to watch the semi in Durban?
Hallo isi
Looking forward to your official outing this weekend?
Wee my siel.
@grootblousmile – 91
Bring them back. Otherwise just put in a few.
@Snoek – 110
Wish Snoek. Have some mates coming round to my place and will just braai and watch from home.
Not the same as going to the game. I don’t a have season ticket either. Think the seats that are available are not in good spots either. Going to get one for next year though.
@Snoek – 112
hahaha. Sometimes its better to watch the game when you know who won. Much more relaxing. Enjoy where ever you going to this weekend.
@Snoek – Howzit Snoek
Looking quit forward to it yes, specially the press conference afterwards.
Think a lot get’s lost in translation between the board room and the news papers.
I would like to give an as full as possible word by word account to R-T readers.
We will see the loosing captain and couch first and then the winners.
I will suss the vibe out, but I would want R-T readers to contribute to the press conference directly.
In otehr words, pose questions to me at the latter stage of the game, myself and the webmoster choose a few good ones and I can pose them directly to whom ever you want at the press conference i.e. Big Vic, Small Luke etc etc.
Now wouldn’t that be something?
Castle South Africa 2009 Lions Series Test Player of the Year.
This MUST be Morne Steyn,
he saved us that series, his tackle on Monye and his deadly kicking was the difference between winning and losing that series.
@isigidi – couch-coach
@superBul – 118
Yes M. Steyn saved us with great kicking in the 2nd test against the Lions and that last kick was brilliant. Right through the middle. It could be him or Brussow he too was awesome in all the tests. Just have to see in the 2nd test when Burger played. We only really started to get more ball once Brussow came on and of course when M.Steyn came on we started to get the kicks over too. Between those two.
