This year, the B-Factor is the buzz for the SA Rugby Awards. Heinrich Brüssouw and a host of Bulls players and Bokke players dominate the Nominations.
Heinrich Brüssow, one of the stars of the 2009 season, has been nominated 5 times and heads the list of nominees with three of his Springbok team-mates for awards to be made at the SA Rugby Player of the Year banquet which will take place at a glittering event at Vodaworld, Midrand, on Monday, November 2.
Apart from Brüssow, Fourie du Preez (4), Springbok captain John Smit (3) and Morné Steyn (3) have also been nominated for multiple awards.
In addition, Peter De Villiers and Paul Treu, the 2 National coaches of the 15-man and 7-man codes respectively, are rewarded as nominees for coach of the year.
It will be difficult to decide some of the winners in the categories, for instance, as Teams of the year there is the triumphant Super 14 winners, The Bulls, but also the Springboks, who won both the B & I Lions Tour and the Tri-Nations.
All the nominees are carefully chosen and deserve their honours.

@Supa Die Bloubul – So where does Caster Semenya make it into a rugby team, what are you trying to tell us? Has she now signed for Western Province?
FDP is coming too…wow….My highlight will be Victor and Bakkies….wondering whether to mob the pitch. You may have to hold me back!! :rotfl:
@grootblousmile – 29 – I see, yes funny name though……. “De Wet come in your tea is ready”!! Sounds wierd! Mind you the name Barry is pretty odd too!
@grootblousmile – Hey don’t go shy on me now.
So you have Peter D V as coach of the year!! I hope he is suitably pleased at you selecting him!!
33@carol – One pronounces it “Duh Vet”
Barry is a common name in SA
30@bdb –
32@carol –
I dont know any woman players, so I thought why not give it to Caster?!
Jip, all of them coming. And then there are also the AB’s! I wont be able to hold you back, I will be in front of you running on the pitch as well! 😉
hoesit maters
@grootblousmile – Barry is a ‘common’ name in England, you would never get Lord Barry of Wychwood or Prince Barry!! :rotfl:
38@smallies72 –
Hoesit Smallies! Hoe hang dinge?
39@carol –
You would get a “Barry the criminal” or a “Barry the bouncer”..hehehe
@Supa Die Bloubul – Just hope Dan Carter gets to play!!
Oh joy…… don’t let me drink too much Guinness, we had a laugh last time and pretty much drank The Fox dry!! I am a lightweight drinker should I start to train now?
@smallies72 – @smallies72 – Hoe gaan dit small chap? :-))
@supa dit hang mooi in die middel ou en by jou
39@carol – Never thought about it that way… we don’t have much truck for royalty here in SA.
@Supa Die Bloubul 41 – Exactly, you know what I mean!
Is this the only place you get to speak Afrikaans or do you have Afrikaans speaking mates in London?
@Supa Die Bloubul – jy kry Barry Richards (baie goeie krieketspeler gewees), en dan kry jy natuurlik Barry die Bul ! 😉
@carol dis als koel hier en da in soutie land
42@carol –
You have a month left to prepare yourself!!
@grootblousmile – I agree with your Lions Series player……now if Morne came over for the Barbarians Match bringing Percy for moral support, I would be overjoyed….
Percy needs to keep busy at the moment!! Must keep out from under Tasmins feet whilst the ‘air clears’!
44@smallies72 –
Myne hang blou dankie. So gaan ons n Bulls/Cheetahs finaal sien?
46@carol –
Have some Afrikaans mates in Nottingham and one or two in London. But our company are made out of mostly Saffas, english ones though!
47@bdb –
en wat van Barry Potter?
@gbs king john prince heinrich duke morne sir bakkies viceroy fdp and luke watson the court clown :-X
@smallies72 – 48 – ek is probeer aan verbeter my Afrikaans taal, ek hopeloos!!! :silly:
Blimey, that took ages!!
@Supa Die Bloubul – 49 – One month, I feel a beer coming on…… :beer:
53@Supa Die Bloubul – LOL !
en dan was daar natuurlik Kerrie en Barry, Liewe Heksie se gifappeltjies …
@Supa Die Bloubul – 52 So you don’t feel too cut off from all things South African – Do you share your biltong in the office and swap potje recepies? Heheheheh
56@carol –
The next week we are leaving for :sun: South Africa! I hope :clock: flies and by then the :hippo: should have won the Curry Cup!
