Right, the day has finally arrived! Only minutes… and counting to the kick-off of the 2009 Currie Cup Final between the Blue Bulls and Free State Cheetahs.
The Bulls enter this game as firm favourites, at home with a record this year second to none. Sure, they only finished third on the CC log but they have a shining Super 14 title to show for their efforts thus far and they are playing the team that came fourth…and only because of a points difference! If you want to put the house on it you will be mad to go anything else than the Bulls.
And for the Cheetahs, well they have been there, done that, literally! It is not the first time they will be visiting Loftus as underdogs and we know what happened last time it happened. Will they be good enough again and will Ollie be on the sideline with a few cigars to hand out after 80 minutes? Time will tell but I think it will be a toss between the boot of Morne Steyn and the magic of Heinrich Brussow with a little Kaplan to mix it all up and make it a memorable occasion for all.
And the winner…? Will tell you after 80 minutes of rugby but my money on the team that scores the most points! Enjoy!

CAROL LOL LOL 🙂
Bosman is palying a blinder. I am surprised that the Sharks havent poached him.
236 – Carol,
Morne can take the kicks blind folded and will still get them over. 😉 Pleased he is a Bok.. 😀
242 – Loosehead
Don’t talk too soon you never know. Sharks only going to announce I think next week who they have. Hold your breath mate. 😀 I wont..hehehe
Puma, Deysel is very overrated.
Carol, who would you believe GBS or me? We all know his reputation.
237 T_H
If we believe in G10 then we have every reason to have a huge smile on our faces. He maybe a Sharkie next year…. 😆
I will only believe that when I see him in a Shark jersey though.
Hit the rubbish!
245 – Loosehead
I don’t think so. Imagine Deysel with Brussow next to him. Well it would be awesome. Two great fetchers but of course the greatest of them all at the moment.
Ok my dinner is ready so cant blog for a while as oxtail is a messy food for me as i end up useing my fingers with lots of wetwipes.
GEEZ, the Bulls can punch and get away with it, but the Cheetahs can’t hold on to the ball without a penalty.
En nou vir die geelkaart !
12 points in 11 minutes might just be a little bit too much for the Cheetahs.
Greatest of them all meant to say Brussow.
Another 3 points to Bulls. Cheetahs letting it slip now but what a great performance by this team. Why can they not play like this in the S14? Here they only have ONE Bok in their team and playing the best team in world rugby at the moment and giving them a run for their money.
Please Cheetahs do this next year in the S14 and not only against your brothers here.
VRYSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
On all accounts…..Vrystaat did pretty damm well so far
243 – I was so pleased to see Morne ‘live’ during the Lions Series, only shame was on that occasion he was kicking ‘against’ my team!!
Told you Hougaart is shit.
245 – Loosehead – Would have to go with GBS, a leg puller and a tease but I would trust him with my life!!
You are very credible tho!! 😉
Fluck Kaplan, that ball went 5 meters.
wow….how’s that?….fking ref
Kaplan not having a good game here.
How can Strauss get a yellow when the ref and touch judge is wrong, but the Bulls can punch and get away with it?
Loosehead there is your yellow you wanted the whole game, enjoy it
249 – Hugs or would you prefer Tree as TH is already taken?
Enjoy your Oxtail, still a banned substance over since BSE!!
Kaplan is on the same level as Dickenson.
263, be fair super.
Ek het reg geroep, geelkaart
Well my Cheetah supporters here. Be very proud of your team. They only have one Bok in their side and gave the best team in the world a great game who have 10 Boks in their side. Be very proud.
I am this is great for SA rugby. The best domestic tourney in the world. No arguments about that. Nothing but nothing gets better than this.
