Right, the day has finally arrived! Only minutes… and counting to the kick-off of the 2009 Currie Cup Final between the Blue Bulls and Free State Cheetahs.
The Bulls enter this game as firm favourites, at home with a record this year second to none. Sure, they only finished third on the CC log but they have a shining Super 14 title to show for their efforts thus far and they are playing the team that came fourth…and only because of a points difference! If you want to put the house on it you will be mad to go anything else than the Bulls.
And for the Cheetahs, well they have been there, done that, literally! It is not the first time they will be visiting Loftus as underdogs and we know what happened last time it happened. Will they be good enough again and will Ollie be on the sideline with a few cigars to hand out after 80 minutes? Time will tell but I think it will be a toss between the boot of Morne Steyn and the magic of Heinrich Brussow with a little Kaplan to mix it all up and make it a memorable occasion for all.
And the winner…? Will tell you after 80 minutes of rugby but my money on the team that scores the most points! Enjoy!

Maar ek gaan gou nog ‘n dop gooi, hierdie Saldhana lug maak mens dors. Praat weer later.

Hello smallies how are the nerves 🙂
Chit Free State score 🙁
@treehugger die nerves is moertoe en my tv ok
Kom Bulle!
Of dit gaan baie close wees, of die Bulle gaan weghardloop. Hoop dis laasgenoemde!
I’ll give my right pinkie to be at Loftus today!
Hi Daisy, looks like its going to be a blast there. But think of it this way you dont have to worry about parking and you will have a good view of the game and have replays.
Eish Fre State is now creaming us, i read somewhere they play so well against us to show the Shark scouts how good they are so they can come down to Deben 🙂
Yes Treehugger, but it is the vibe that makes up for everything else. It is really depressing to sit here in Canada; no blue & orange jerseys or flags, no Leon Schuster music, no smell of braai’s….
no 19- smallies – moertoe ! what a fab word, will be useing that quite a bit.
Example: the fecking horse kicked me moertoe this morning LOL.
DD Blom, can you at least watch the game?
Shame Daisy i thought you were in SA, well really hope you can watch the game. I know they post links on voldy all the time so you should have a look or wait for Carol she will know.
Swanie. Will see f it is on the net somewhere, otherwise it is on Setanta at 5pm our time, midnight SA time.
Well Free State just beat us (sharks) and those young guys look very happy to have done so. Wonder if that is a sign of things to come. 🙂
