The coast is clear for Fourie to move to Western Province.

The Lawyer, Frikkie Erasmus, this afternoon revealed that the Arbitrator has found that there is no leagal binding agreement between the Lions Rugby Union and Jacque Fourie which states he has to play his rugby with the Lions.

Fourie has thus been cleared to play his rugby in 2010 at the Province of his choice.

    @Boerboel – I’ve got as many typos as Puma!! Chance = Change, now I am not sure.

    @Boerboel – 29

    I think it was more Cape Town the lure than anything else. Who would not want to live there? Its the most beautiful place in the world.

    Feel for Lions though.

    Read on Voldy someone saying that Brussow may sign for Sharks. Cheetahs wont like that at all. I still think its a rumour though as from what I know think Brussow has signed for Cheetahs for the next two years.

    @Ed_the_Lion – I understand your emotion. He’s the best player in the lions set-up and he is lost due to an administrative error.
    Just remember that Brian Habs also left Lions, as did James Small many moons ago, and the list is long.
    Please don’t crucify me, but maybe you should look at the union before getting angry with the player.
    The union was at fault, and they most propably knew this all the time. If anybody changed this into a media spectacle, then it was the Lions Union.

    And Ed I’m gonna get you REALLY angry with this, but if there is anyone that should be apologising to anybody, then it’s the Lions to Fourie for not offering him at least a legal contract.

    @Boerboel

    Fourie has been performing at his top level at the Lions. Thats where he became a Bok and been consistently good there.
    Hope he deosnt go the same route as Joe, Russell, AJ, Lobberts, Brits etc .

  • 36

  • 37

    sorry leeue julle kry nie by my simpatie nie,te veel kere het julle al by ons gepoach(rassie smily a.j)en vele meer willie meyer ok die lysie is laaaaank en baie is op die selfde wyse bekom so what goes around comes around

  • 38

    @isigidi

    Sy kontrak was “legal” genoeg toe hy elke maand sy paycheck gaan haal het…

  • 39

    @isigidi

    So, why did Fourie not mention anything when he signed the contract, Isn’t it normal practise to sign each page meaning that you agree with everything.

    If I were the Lions management, I would sue Fourie for every cent he was paid under this “non-binding contract”. The contract was now declared as “ongeldig”.

    F@K hom op LEEUS!!!!!!

    JF en Habana gaan in elkgeval nie plek kry in die WP span nie.

    Wie gaan hulle drop, sekerlik nie Nokahightacklevuki nie ?

    WP moet maar aanhou koop, dalk hul span se naam verander na:
    SA & World Barbarians … 😉

  • 41

  • 42

    @isigidi – 43

    I remember Laurie Mains saying the reason SA teams never done well in the Super Rugby back then was, because every year players shifted to new unions. So no union really had a team playing continuous with each other year in year out. That is really what makes a team strong players staying together.

    Maybe why Bulls are so strong and winning so much now. None of them hardly ever leave that union.

    I agree with Laurie Mains and Jake thought like that too with the Boks.

  • 43

    Laat ek eerder loop voor ek my vriende begin vloek. As hy wil hoër potentiaal bereik sal hy Sharks of Bulle toe moes gaan. WP se beker kaste is net so leeg soos die Leeus sin. Ek hoop sy loopbaan is nou is sy moer in. Die Unie vir hom sorry sê..FOK!!!

  • 44

    @Supa Die Bloubul – Maar nie legal genoeg om hom daar te hou nie.DWS Lions was fools om hom te betaal terwyl hy beseer was.
    Joke on Lions Union thus?

  • 45

    @isigidi

    Sorry Isi, maar dis n swak argument. Hoekom moet die Leeus vir Mossie jammer se? Hy het SELF OOK daai kontrak geteken. Hy het SELF OOK elke maand die pay aanvaar, selfs wanneer hy beseer wees.
    Toe weier hy om te kom oefen.
    Toe badmouth hy die Leeus in die publiek.
    En die Leeus moet vir hom jammer se?

  • 46

    Let’s be honest… I said as much the other day here on the blog…

    This whole episode leaves a sour taste in the mouth….

    But, as I also said… the GLRU is not blameless! They never completed the contract properly, they purported it to be a contract for an ANALIST in stead of a PLAYER CONTRACT. As I understand the GLRU never kept or employed the Standard Player contracts as approved by SARPA either.. in other words they Farked up, big time.

    At the same time, Jacque’s lack of loyalty and selective morality regarding this contract, has a rather putrid smell as well.

    No use crying over spilt mil though, what is done is done… shit happens… get over it my Lions mates… as soon as possible !

  • 47

    40@bdb

    Of sommer kort net Barbies…hehe

  • 48

    Do you know if Brussow has signed with Cheetahs for the next two years? Read on the otherside someone saying that Brussow is about to sign with the Sharks.

    Now that would be a huge loss to Cheetahs.

    I think its a rumour though. Think Brussow is a Cheetahh man just like Juan is.

    Might be wrong don’t really know just read that.

  • 50

    @WilladieLeeu – Willa willa willa!
    Het jy ‘n kontrak met jou skoonmaak dame of met die tuin man.
    Gaan jy sy geld vir hom terug gee omdat julle nie ‘n kontrak het nie?

    Hulle lewer’n diens vir jou en jy het hulle betaal. As hulle wil waai, hoe gaan jy hulle keer?

    @bdb – Ek dog net die WP koop?

  • 53

    44@isigidi
    Die GLRU is OOK verkeerd. Hulle kontrak was swak opgestel.

  • 54

    47@Supa Die Bloubul – ja, ek hoor die naam wp en stormers is nou iets van die verlede. Vanaf 2010 is hul nuwe name:

    s14: Barbies
    cb: WaPana WaPana

    @grootblousmile – 46

    I felt really bad when Frans Steyn left the Sharks for Metro. Just pleased he never went to another union in SA. That would have been worse.

  • 56

    @Puma – last year he extended his contract by two years but that means nothing as we can see.i know his dad is a loyal cheetah man so hopefully he is also

  • 57

    Cheers all. Out of here now.

  • 58

    54@bdb

    hehehe hulle gaan ons nou aanval!

  • 59

    @bdb – daai kontrakte is geteken in bloed mater

  • 60

    @smallies72 – 56

    Yes that is what I thought. Brussow is a Cheetah man. If he has signed that is it. Its binding.

    Thought it was just a rumour.

    Cheers smallies. out of here now.
