Four Currie Cup Premier Division games were played and the Lions walk away with this week’s TEAM OF THE WEEK AWARD.
I rate the games from good to not so good, as follows:
1. Lions vs WP – This game had everything, drama, excitement, guts.
2. Griquas vs Sharks – The gutsy Griquas tried very hard against the might of the Sharks.
3. Leopards vs Blue Bulls – The Bulls were always going to win, and win big.
4. Boland vs Cheetahs – The Cheetahs were also always going to get their 5 Log Points.
In considering the winner, one has to also consider the opposition faced, immediately placing the Bulls and Cheetahs lower down as far as spectacles are concerned.
The Lions were written off, bad-mouthed, scorned… you name it… but they fought like giants on Saturday and deserve all the credit this week. Pity that they are out of the semi-finals because they played like finalists yesterday.
Well done Lions!
How is that for objectivity?
Lions are also the surprise of the week.

I would have picked the Bulls, but i did not want to stretch it too far. i did not see the game. :rotfl:
The reality is the team in the sixth position of the log beat the no 1 team. That makes them the performance team of the week.
Agree GBS, Lions have to be team of the week. Proud of that team. Play with a lot of heart just never give up.
Looking forward to seeing what they can do in the Super14 next year.
Hoooooooooooraaaaaaaaaaaaa
Well done my Lions, 4 sure this was the game of the week, and yes, you deserve to be the the team of the week.
