A bit of a see-saw ride for the two teams, after a horrible start for the Cheetahs they are suddenly one win away from the top four again.
The Lions have a coaching panel second to none it seems with the likes of Jake White lending a helping hand. The current log positions are:

Not a lot in it and for the winners a step closer to the final four and for the losers, well it will make the road to the final four so much harder, if not impossible.
Last week the Lions did a great job in putting one over the Bulls whilst the Cheetahs turned the tables on their cousins from the West.
White had the following to say about the Lions:
“We have dropped some league points along the way, but we are confident that we’ll reach the play-offs.”
“We know it is a tough road ahead, especially with some of the other teams still to get their Springboks back. But nothing is impossible,” he added.
Of course the Cheetahs are also talking up their play-off chances but this game will set the trend for the rest of the season
Both teams are missing players but the Cheetahs wins this hands down. For the Lions they include their captain Cobus Grobbelaar and suspended lock Willem Stoltz.
But check this list for the Cheetahs; Robert Ebersohn (ankle injury), Hendro Scholtz (head knock), Kabamba Floors (leg), Johan Wessels (ankle), Danwel Demas (ankle), Tewis de Bruyn, Meyer Bosman, Lionel Mapoe and Francois Uys.
I will close with this insightful comment from the coach…
“Saturday’s game against the Lions and the next week against Western Province are vital in terms of our season,” Drotské said. Yes well, what more can I add?

Goeie move deur Alberts … net jammer dit is agtertoe. 😉
@Ed_the_Lion – Lewis doesn’t look half bad.
Cheating Lions give away another penalty. Time for another yellow.
Lots of ex Bulls players in the Cheetahs team these days. Demas, JL Potgieter, Joubert, A Strauss, Daniller. Cheetahs are the REAL poachers in SA! 😉
Mark Lawrens on a roll again
35@Supa Die Bloubul – grey speel nou in swart, en blou speel in wit.
Lions poaching a lot of ground-ball from the Staat
Earl Lewis is doing well so far…
@Supa Die Bloubul – Oi, that is not fair.
Strauss is from the Freestate, and you can have Demas back anytime.
Kak sover. Bladen klink gesuip en die ref probeer die leeus spyker!!
Sien die pawiljoene is weer gepak, daar is nie plek vir ‘n witstoel op BFN-park nie ! 😉
6-3 to the Mighty States.
Great strike
@K9-MonsterLeeu – Sore loser!
41@K9-MonsterLeeu – nee man, jy kan nie die ref blame nie … dit is nie die bokke wat speel nie.
Die ref is’n ry op ‘n harley belowe as die cheaters wen.
WP Nel looks the business at tighthead.

Nou daar is ‘n voorbeeld hoe groot grap die skrums is:
In Bokke wedstryd pop Bismark uit: strafskop vir aussies
Nou net pop Leeu haker se kop uit: vryskop vir leeus.
Nou vra ek jou ….
Sadly it seems as if the Lions and Boks share the same scrum coach.
Lions slowly taking control here…..
@SA Barbarians – ja…dink Joe Pietersen sal daarvan hou 🙂
@bdb – 50
vryskop was vir skeef ingooi
Manne, ek het nou ‘n groot sonde gepleeg… en ek kannie anders as om te bieg daaroor nie…. hoop julle ALMAL vergewe my, dit sal nie weer gebeur nie…
