The Leopards met Griquas in Potchefstroom tonight, where Griquas won a tight encounter, 34 / 33.
Griquas secured 5 Log points and kept their fight for a Currie Cup semi-final alive by scoring 4 tries and hanging on to defend a 1 point lead from a game Leopards team, who seems to be improving as the season unfolds.
The four-tries-to-two, bonus-point win cemented Griquas’ place in the top four and they could even find themselves in third place by the end of the weekend – depending on the Saturday matches.
For the Leopards it was scant consolation to get only a losing bonus point.

It means shag Carol.
@Supa Die Bloubul –
Blonds..eish… 😆
@carol – Ed’s accent was strong but I could understand him ok 🙂
Tryyyyyyy Kwas…. Ryno Barnes
60@JimT – Etzakkerly !!
Kwas 20 / 19
@grootblousmile – Maybe use the horses to get the groceries? Before long we will have halved Carol’s workload. Now about those bump uglies, heh, heh 🙂
Leopards 22 / 20
67@JimT – Do it whilst picking groceries…. hehehe
You know watching this week old match Luke Watson is not a bad player. He has some fine touches to his game. Pity he can’t leave his talking for the field 🙁
@grootblousmile – Lucky grocery boy, heh, heh 🙂
Bondisio, the Leopards scrummie is flippen good…. watch, he’s going to be bought shortly….
Try Barry Geel, for Kwas
Kwas 27 / 22
What do you guys think about replacing Bekker in the Boks squad with Van Zyl of WP? Maybe for EOT?
The fact that Griquas cannot comfortably put the Leopards away shows just how they have regressed as the season has worn on !
Try Danie Dames, for Leopards !
@grootblousmile –
Mooi! Kom nou Luiperde! Bly voor!
74@JimT – Anton van Zyl is MUCH better than Bekker… a hard-grafting lock… not a backline dweller !
I agree !
27 / 27
@JimT –
I wouldnt do it. Not that I rate Bekker in particular but he has proved himself at s14 level. Van Zyl is playing good rugby, but rememebr he is playing in a CC without Matfielf, Bakkies, Bekker, Muller and Rossouw. I try not to read to much in the CC until all players are available. Lets see how he does when everyone returns or in the S14. Until then , I would pick Bekker before Van Zyl.
27 all! Eish…close finish. Most people picked GW to win quite comfortably.
79@Supa Die Bloubul – You forget that Van Zyl is a Super 14 regular as well… he was playing there the whole season for the Lions before moving to WP
@grootblousmile –
I know he did, but he never stood out, and thats exactly my point. No-one mentioned Van Zyl as a Bok until the past few weeks in the CC. And he was playing there for 3 years already. Bekker hasnt had many opportunities, but he deserves his chance before Van Zyl at this stage.
Try Bjorn Basson for Kwas, under the sticks.
Bonus point try.
Also, Van Zyl is turning 30. Matfield, Bakkies and Rossouw will still play till 2011. Van Zyl would be 32 then. Bekker is 26 now. I feel he has more to offer.
@grootblousmile –
Ag no! Dont think the Leopards will come back from this…eish.
I like the look of Steven Sykes more…
85@Supa Die Bloubul – I need the Kwas to score another 15 unanswered points….
@grootblousmile –
Think its possible? Maybe the Lopeards will score and we will have our first draw this year.
Penalty, Cecil Dumond
Kwas 34 / 30
@Supa Die Bloubul – I was not aware of Van Zyl’s age. That would cause 2nd thoughts on my part. I guess there will be a problem eventually when Matfield & Botha retire, probably about the same time. Even Bekker will be past it by then perhaps?
