The Boland Cavalliers took on the Griquas this afternoon at 15:00 at Boland Park, Wellington. The Griquas scored 5 tries, earning their bonus point for tries and continue to march towards a possible semi-final. They won 31 / 23.

Boland went ahead early on, leading 6 / 0 after about 12 minutes and put up a game performance right through-out the 80 minutes.

Griquas was clearly focussed on scoring tries and at the end of the First half, Griquas had already scored 3 tries.

Griquas led 21 / 9 at the break.

In the second half the match became a bit stale at times, with Boland scoring te first try in the half, to be countered by a try by Griquas near the end. Boland, however, was not done yet and scored a final try on full time.

For a semi-final contender, Griquas certainly did not look the part. They have tough games ahead against most of the BIG Unions and would have to put foot on the pedal to continue their good run.

Boland has only won one match in 10 weeks of Currie Cup ruby, against the lowly Leopards in round one, deserving to be near the the bottom of the Log.

Griquas now have 34 Currie Cup Log points and temporarily moves to top of the Log.
