Durban – Springboks Ryan Kankowski, Odwa Ndungane and Jannie du Plessis – who are all in the Tri-Nations touring squad – have been included in the Sharks squad to face the Lions in an Absa Currie Cup rugby match in Johannesburg Saturday.

Ndungane missed last weekend’s win over the Leopards due to a hamstring injury, but has recovered sufficiently while Du Plessis will get an opportunity to improve his match fitness with a role off the bench.

Unfortunately, though, Argentinian Juan Martin Hernandez – who suffered an ankle injury in his Sharks debut against the Leopards – is not fit to feature this weekend and Monty Dumond will start at flyhalf.

Jacques Botes and Keegan Daniel rotate once again this week, as do Skipper Badenhorst and Craig Burden.

The match kicks-off at 17: 05 and will be refereed by Jonathan Kaplan.

Sharks: Stefan Terblanche (capt); Odwa Ndungane, Andries Strauss, Riaan Swanepoel; Lwazi Mvovo; Monty Dumond, Charl McLeod, Ryan Kankowski, Jean Deysel, Jacques Botes, Albert van den Berg, Steven Sykes, Patric Cilliers, Craig Burden, Deon Carstens. Replacements – Skipper Badenhorst, Jannie du Plessis, Michael Rhodes, Keegan Daniel, Ross Cronje, Guy Cronje, Waylon Murray.
