COACH Robbie Deans concedes that if the Wallabies are to turn around their Tri Nations misfortunes after successive losses to the All Blacks and Springboks, he will need to unleash some good old fire and brimstone – including handing the most errant of his players their last warnings.
OPINION: Desperate times call for desperate measures. And make no mistake, today’s Tri-Nations All Black recall for Dan Carter is right up there on the urgency scale.
But on the balance of things I’m in favour of the callup for the Gifted One. I wasn’t always – in fact prior to Durban I had the opposite view – but circumstances have persuaded me that something pretty radical needed doing, and this is as good a response as anything to two sub-standard test performances in South Africa.
So, on ya Ted. Ballsy call. But probably the right one. All Blacks coaches are not always noted for diverting from the conservative selection path, but in this instance Graham Henry has made a gut-instinct decision that might well have been easier to avoid.
Heinke speel losskop ouens.
179# Nou wie is die beste in SA?
Ek weet nie.
In SA seker maar Janie en John. Daar is nie ander nie. Sou graag BJ weer wil sien.
#169
Pietman
