    Ken hulle glad nie!!

Frik se 31 is baie, as jy daaraan dink dat hy in die isolasie jare gespeel het. As ek reg onthou het Naas maar 19 toetse gespeel.

  • 393

    392 Naas, 19 toetse, tikfout

    #393 Dit is baie.

390 Agree Ed. 5 minute caps is really ridiculous. Maybe they should play at least 40 minutes to earn a cap?

How about half a cap? πŸ™‚

JimT, thats a good idea. Set a standard…if you play less than 30 minute or whatever, it doesn’t count.
Chilli will be building half caps like crazy πŸ™‚

390 Re: no money for the older players. Watching the 1974 Lions recently talking over old times someone made the observation that “we were more rounded as people than today’s professionals, because we had day jobs”. An interesting observation. The general feeling of those guys was that the professionals today have a very narrow outlook, which seems to match my observation of professional athletes in the US. I suppose it’s a natural fallout for the game. Too bad.

So true, Matfield played 86 with 82 starts
compare that with Albert vd Berg with 48 at lock plus 3 at flank but only 23 starts.

    JS at
    Hooker 77 starts 64
    Chillie 4 starts 1
    Shimange 8 and a brilliant 0 starts

I agree. I watch these American athletes and its all about money. There is now more pride in it.

    Actually sad!!

    407. I remember seeing a pro basketball player in a bar at 2 am in Philadelphia the night before a play off game (& he was a starter). Didn’t give a sh*t, he had his multi-million dollar contract so why bother. Of course his team lost the game the following night. πŸ™

So what are we calling ourselves in the evenings here – ‘Jan Owls’ or ‘Night Jans?

  • 412

    #410 JimT

Thats how these guys think. Its not about the team and how the team does, its all about yourself. Look at this ARod playing for the Yanks. What a loser if I can say. Manny Ramirez, getting a 50 game ban, after being offered 70Million dollars. Its not sport anymore.

    #411 Carol,

Seeing that you are the only lady present, you can choose!!

  • 414

    Just not janitors

  • 415

I think ‘Night Jans’ has a ring to it…

Liked the bush baby idea, creatures that come out at night, but somehow it sounded ‘wrong’!

  • 416

    So where is everyone?
Surely they have got rid of the Saturday night hangover by now?

  • 417

What Currie cup action is there to look forward to this weekend?

  • 418

Then we will be known as the night Jans. Anybody have a problem with Carol’s suggestion…………NO, great thought so. Sold to the lady in pink.

  • 419

#417 Lions vs Sharks. Only big game for this weekend.
