OK, boys and girls, yesterday we set some records with 2 threads going for gold… but this one is going to go ballistic today !!
This is also the Game Thread for this important match between the Bokke and Ozzie in Cape Town (Slaapstad).

Well that s just fine and dandy…..
SA is here, bul-a is not scared and we can discuss things without being attacked!
So…
I thought Gary Gold was the ‘coach’ and Snor took ‘advice’ π
Is that not the case? Remember last season when the rumour was that the players went “Sure Peter” and the went off and did their own thing!
927
bwaahahaha
Maybe Carol’s SAB works for you? π
927 – Try S.A….he answers to that!! π
928
To be honest i dont know. Maybe he would have started building his next RWC squad.
On the udder hand he would have flopped dismally.
He does not believe in fetchers, so we would have been without Brussouw.
Who would you think he would play as flyhalve?
931
Smart lady…..
Maybe Smit, Matfield, JdV, FdP
Who knows?
SAB works well, on the forum and in a glass..
934 Super
The story that he “does not believe in fetchers” is a propaganda ploy by the activists of the ghetto we used to frequent.
JW did not believe in fetchers during a specific era, under specific rules. Things have changed drastically since then, and it is pure malicious footwork to state as fact that he would not have selected Brussouw if he was coach today
#934 Flyhalf would have been Butch until he qualified for a state pension. Seriously though maybe Peter Grant? His type of player.
Never would have played Morne or HB that is for sure.
To make myself clear I am not a JW supporter of critic. His time came and went and thanks for what he did, I say.
Any similarity between what the ghettoβs activists say and the truth, is often pure coincidence
#937 I don’t believe he would have played Brussow for two reasons. He would have got much more out of Schalk and secondly the Wine Farm mafia would have forced his hand as they did Snor.
That 8 week ban was a god-sent and forced their hand. Schalk on the bench for sure but Brussouw must stay.
938
Agree, Jake did wonderful work and sadly he buggered up his own record by experimenting in tests.
I think the real test for Peter will come when some of his big guns get injured and retire.
#939 SAB ghetto de-activists have no truth in them, just hate and an eye for the BEE-gap.
Anyway, if PdV keeps on being the coach of a winning team, he will earn respect.
Only way to earn respect is the hard way. Earn is a verb – it implies work, lots of it and results

Agree 100%
SA Rugbys ratings
Here are the Springbok player ratings for the victory over the Wallabies at Newlands.
1. Beast Mtawarira – 7
The Boks failed to get the upper hand in the scrums, but that didn’t prevent the Beast from getting around the field and making his presence felt. Like the entire front row he is the best in the world in his position.
2. Bismarck du Plessis – 8.5
Du Plessis is delivering on his undoubted talent and promises better things for the rest of his long career. Bismarck cut silly penalties out altogether and had a huge influence in the loose. Only prevented from a higher rating by the fact that the Boks failed to establish a front row dominance.
3. John Smit – 8
He’ll talk about the little grubber through for Matfield’s try for the rest of his career, but the fact remains that no other tighthead in the world can influence a game like the Bok captain. It’s a little worrying that the Boks couldn’t get a grip on the front row battle.
4. Bakkies Botha – 8.5
Botha put in a huge effort and nothing epitomised it more than the tackle late in the second half when he dislodged the ball and put the Boks back on the front foot. An understated, but vital performance.
5. Victor Matfield – 8.5
Named the man of the match and deserving for changing the game with his try and disrupting the Wallabies at vital times with his lineout steals.
6. Heinrich Brussow – 8
If you blinked during the game you might have missed half of Brussow’s turnovers. A constant presence at teh breakdown and he can rightfully add George Smith’s scalp to the two he picked up from Richie McCaw. No mean feat.
7. Juan Smith – 7
Seemed hampered by a first half injury, but good enough to worry the Wallabies and always helped the Boks get on the front foot.
8. Pierre Spies – 8
Spies proved against the All Blacks that he is the real deal and he continues to deliver on his talent at the highest level. Brilliant without being outstanding.
9. Fourie du Preez – 8.5
Find a kick into space that doesn’t land in du Preez’s hands and I’ll deliver you the Yeti in a paper bag. He is always in the right place at the right time and is the cog that keeps this Bok machine running. Outstanding.
10. Morne Steyn – 8
He doesn’t miss a kick and plays to the Springbok gameplan without fail. His kicking out of hand was not of the highest standard, but his threat from the tee makes him a vital player in the Bok team.
11. Bryan Habana – 7
Had a couple of good darts which threatened, but ultimately failed to unlock the Wallaby defences. Played a solid game without really cracking open the opposition.
12. Jean de Villiers – 7.5
One of his better games. Fits the new gameplan perfectly in that the little ball he gets he takes over the advantage line.
13. Jaque Fourie – 7
Got so little ball that it almost feels unfair to rate him, but he didn’t put a foot wrong.
14. JP Pietersen – 8
He gets a lot of grief from some quarters, but there is no better chaser of the high ball. He is a key weapon in hte Bok team. Slipped a bad tackle to allow the Wallabies in for their first try.
15. Frans Steyn – 7
Tried to do too much on his own. Didn’t make any fundemental errors, but a less selfish performance could have unleashed a more potent Bok attack. He still is more reliable than any alternative and capable of great things.
Reserves
Danie Rossouw – 7
Slipped a few tackles, but not afraid of getting involved.
Ruan Pienaar – 7
Little to do, but capable
#941 If he survives.
He might be a victim in the Hoskins vs Stofile power struggle.
He has sided with lastmentioned both in SARU and politically.
Has Lady C now left the room without saying good night, and how wonderful we are???? π
Noooo, WRS arrived back and I had to do ‘wifey’stuff…….
#945 Can’t fault the ratings individually.
As a group I think it is a bit generous for the forwards.
Set scrums were poor imho. That being the case an average 8 is a bit high?
I think those ratings are really quite similar to mine!!
Spooky… .;-)
The ratings above is a joke, everyone gets high points this guy is too generous.

“14. JP Pietersen – 8”
Very generous in my opinion
Actually boys, as it is just us I have been meaning to say –
“Did you both know you really are quite wonderful “- there I have got that of my chest!!
(To be honest my chest is quite small and it is good for it not to be cluttered up)!!!
SA – I gave JP 5/10!!
953
Oooooh excuse me for a minute. I have to let this sink in and enjoy the afterglow… π
JPP no ways better than a 6
Habs had a brilliant game last week, this week i would give him 6.5 at most.
Bismark was also last week at his peak no ways worth a 8.5 at best 7.5 but rather a 7
we
may have to
954
Yes, and even that may have been generous, but you are in a generous mood today….. π
